I am fascinated by people. My passion is drawing portraits. When I draw a portrait, I begin with the eyes, focusing on bringing them to life first. If I can make the eyes come alive, the rest of the portrait falls into place. I continue to focus on the smallest details, the tilt of an eyebrow, the curl of a lip, or the scrunch of the nose. In this way, I am able to connect with the subject and capture their personality. As I draw, I imagine the person is talking to me, sharing their story, their experiences, and their life.
